WHO Makes ‘Shocking’ Announcement About Medical Marijuana’s Public Health Risk

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that medical marijuana has “no public health risks” and should be fully legalized for patients.

WHO have concluded that cannabis is NOT addictive and can be a useful aid to diseases and illnesses such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cancer, epilepsy and many more.

Specifically, the WHO state that cannabidiol (CBD)—which has been proven to not have intoxicating effects—should “not be a scheduled drug.”

In recent years the legalization—and decriminalization—of marijuana has spread across the United States and many other countries.

More and more government organisations and medical industries are recognizing the positive potential of making the substance legal—especially for medical purposes.

The WHO stated:

Responding to that interest and increase in use, WHO has in recent years gathered more robust scientific evidence on therapeutic use and side effects of cannabis and cannabis components.

“To that end, the ECDD did an initial review of a cannabis compound called cannabidiol (CBD). Recent evidence from animal and human studies shows that its use could have some therapeutic value for seizures due to epilepsy and related conditions.

“Current evidence also shows that cannabidiol is not likely to be abused or create dependence as for other cannabinoids (such as Tetra Hydro Cannabinol (THC), for instance).

“The ECDD therefore concluded that current information does not justify scheduling of cannabidiol and postponed a fuller review of cannabidiol preparations to May 2018, when the committee will undertake a comprehensive review of cannabis and cannabis related substances.”

Founder and president of HempMeds Mexico, Raul Elizalde, told The Daily Mail that he was “ecstatic” to hear the news.

Mr. Elizalde became a huge figure in the fight to legalize cannabis after he campaigned for medical use for his daughter, Grace, who suffers from epilepsy.

Elizalde explained:

“I’m ecstatic that these international health leaders agree that CBD is a substance that should not be scheduled and has therapeutic value for a variety of medical conditions.

“We look forward to continuing our conversation about its many benefits in 2018.”

Mr. Elizalde explained the remarkable difference the substance caused in his daughter’s life, originally suffering from hundreds every day—a number that has now dropped to only a few.

He continued:

“It has changed our life.

“I never thought I would be doing this, that cannabis would be part of our life. But Grace changed everything. Now I know that just taking CBD is like taking a health supplement. It is not a replacement for her treatment, but it has changed her life.”
